Sironah began with a simple wish – to bring back the honest, everyday foods we grew up with. The aroma of fresh chekku oil in a hot kadai. A spoon of golden ghee over steaming rice. Food that tasted the way it was meant to.
Today, most cooking oils are refined and stripped of their character. We wanted to offer families a simpler choice – the traditional way, made easy to buy.
Our oils are pressed in a traditional wooden mara chekku. Seeds and copra are crushed slowly under a heavy wooden pestle, so the oil is extracted without high heat. It is then naturally filtered and bottled – no refining, no bleaching, no deodorising.
Our ghee is prepared the traditional way, slowly simmered until it turns golden and aromatic.
Simply natural. That is our promise on every bottle and pack. Nothing added, nothing taken away – just pure, honest food, packed fresh in small batches and delivered to your door.

Rooted in tradition,
pressed with patience
A wooden chekku is not the fastest way to make oil – and that is exactly why we use it. Slow pressing keeps the natural aroma, colour and taste that refined oils lose along the way.
Wood pressing extracts oil slowly at a low temperature and skips refining, bleaching and deodorising. The oil keeps its natural aroma, colour and flavour.
Unrefined oil can carry a little natural sediment and may look slightly cloudy. This is normal for wood pressed oil. Coconut oil also turns solid below about 24°C – a natural property of pure coconut oil.
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and always use a dry spoon. Coconut oil may turn solid in cooler weather – place the closed bottle in warm water for a few minutes to melt it.
